MAE 189B -- Preliminary Design Review

PRELIMINARY DESIGN REVIEW

During this quarter you should:

  • Continue with weekly progress reporting and keeping the Project Binder up-to-date.

  • Prepare a PowerPoint presentation (or equivalent electronic media presentation) on your design project at the end of the preliminary design stage.  The presentation should include at least 3 design concepts generated for the project and should end with a recommendation for a selected design to pursue.

The PowerPoint presentation should be given orally to your Project Advisor.  After approval by your Project Advisor, an electronic copy can be sent to the Web Page Coordinator (if the presentation is very large, make other arrangements) for public web-posting.

There are no specific rules, but some general suggested guidelines for the preliminary design presentation are available.
